One more starter with prawns. I should say this is very easy to make & tastes awesome!! We both enjoyed it so much and I had only one regret…I made only a few, it got over so fast :( . I tried this dish with some leftover prawns from mixed fried rice. If you like prawns, I would strongly recommend you to give this a try, am sure you will not be disappointed.
Here is the recipe:
- Prawns – 16
- Egg – 1
- Salt – as required
Pepper – as required
Cornflour – 2 tbsp - Bread – 4 slices
- Onion -1, chopped
- Oil
Clean the prawns, you can retain its tail if you wish. Beat the egg well & add cornflour, salt & pepper. Combine well. Dip prawns in this batter. Remove the crusts from the bread slices and cut each slice into four pieces. Place one prawn on top of each bread square & press gently. Repeat the same till all the prawns are placed in this manner. Pour the remaining egg batter on these bread squares. Sprinkle the chopped onion on top of the bread squares. Heat oil in a pan and deep fry the same. Serve hot with tomato ketchup or any other sauce of your choice.
Notes: Though the original recipe uses uncooked prawns, I used cooked prawns for this. Make sure that the prawns are well coated with the egg batter, otherwise it may separate from the bread piece while frying.
