Surprised by the heading?? These days the product life cycle is becoming very short. Within one month of releasing a new product you have its new version with advanced features. Relax friends, am not lecturing about Marketing am just trying to give you an intro about the new version of mixed fried rice I made. I should say my 2nd version of mixed fried rice has a different flavor and taste compared to the previous one. Its like having fried rice from two different restaurants
I think some people like a particular taste for fried rice, for example my 2 year old nephew. He prefers fried rice from a particular restaurant in Mumbai (where my bro & family lives) and he has fried rice from other places only if he is tooooooo hungry and there are no other options. I sometimes wonder how he is so selective at this young age
, talk about present day kids! Anyways am a person who doesn’t mind trying different styles/version/tastes of fried rice.
Usually when I make mixed fried rice, I feel like standing in the mix n match dress section of shopper’s stop
I dont have a fixed recipe for fried rice, I usually make it with the available ingredients. This time however I didn’t mix n match, I followed my Mother in Law’s recipe. Btw, this is one of her hit recipes.
You can see the mixed fried rice version 1 here.
Here is the recipe for version 2:

I am confused with the name of this dish. I got the recipe from Vanitha magazine. They have named it Greek fish. I never had Greek food, so don’t know if there is any similarity. Somehow I cant bring myself to call it “Greek fish fry”. When I gave it to my husband, he asked me whether its fish fingers, I said I was not sure. I’ve posted a recipe for fish fingers before and its so different from this. Though there was a confusion with regards to the name, there wasn’t any confusion about its taste. It has a unique taste, whether its Greek or Latin.
After all what’s in a name :) I thought I would just call it fish fry, after all its fish & its fried too

Its been sometime since my rooms are filled with the fresh baking aroma. Both, my hubby & myself, love it. It also brings me a nostalgic feeling.
Back home in Kerala our neighbor had a bakery. They used to make buns, bread, laddus etc at the borma (industry jargon for kitchen) behind their house. Our kitchen was closer to their borma. They made bread usually during evening time, just after I reached home from school. The moment I get this smell, I used to run to our compound wall, I even remember jumping the wall at times
… talk about being hungry!
The activities @ the borma always fascinated me, the way they put the dough into the big oven and the way the crispy golden colored bread popped out spreading the heavenly baked aroma.
Now coming back to blueberry muffins, I had it only after coming to Bahrain and it was love @ first bite :) I always wanted to try this but couldn’t find blueberry. So when I saw it in the frozen section recently, I grabbed quite a few bags, that my husband wondered whether am into blueberry hoarding business
This recipe gives you a very moist muffin.
