Hi Maria, I’m a newly wed and just started cooking… I usually stick to sanjeev kapoor recipes coz you can be sure they will never go too wrong… I hit upon your blog recently and the very first recipe that I tried out (prawns olathiyathu) came out so delicious that I’ve not gone back to any other place to look for recipes since then! I’ve tried a whole lot of fish and prawns recipes from your site and each one of them have turned out great! My mallu hubby loves them and polishes off every bit :-)

      Dear Caroline,

Thanks a lot for sending such a sweet comment, am very happy :). Sorry for the delayed reply, I was away for holidays. Btw, I too like sanjeev kapoor’s recipes, you can find a few of his recipes in my blog.

Hope you had a wonderful Xmas. Wish you and your family a happy & blessed new year!!

      Cheers

  • Sany

    Maria,
We r about to cook this dish… However, one prob.. no shallots(small onion) and  coconut pieces.. !! Is it okay 2 use onion instead of shallots…? Can v use smethng else for coc0nut pieces…?? Waiting 4 ur reply.. meanwhile i’l clean shrimp…!!

    • http://mariasmenu.com Maria Jose

      Hi Sany,

I’m sorry to disappoint you dear, but this curry gets it flavour from shallots. So I dont think onions will do justice to this curry :(

Please check out the other prawns recipe to see if you find anything interesting.

      Cheers
