  • Chilli Paneer

    1. Paneer cubes – 200 gms
    2. Maida – 20 gm
      Cornflour – 20 gm
    3. Ginger – 1/2 teaspoon
      Garlic – 1teaspoon
    4. Onion chopped – 4 teaspoon
    5. Green chilli slit lengthwise – 3
    6. Soya sauce -2teaspoon
    7. Spring onion – 3 teaspoons each
      Capsicum – 1 small
    8. Gingergarlic paste – 1 teaspoon
    9. * Red Chilli Paste – 2 teaspoon
      White pepper powder – 1/2 teaspoon
    10. Egg white – 1 Salt Water

    Marinate Paneer cubes with maida, cornflour, ginger garlic paste, pepper powder, half of chilli paste, salt & egg white. Make sure that Paneer pieces are fully covered with this marinade. Keep it for half an hour & deep fry.

    For Gravy

    Heat oil in a pan. Add chopped garlic, ginger, green chilli, onion, capsicum & spring onion accordingly & stir.After that add paneer pieces. Add remaining red chilli paste. ( All this has to be done in high flame). Add soyasauce & stir. Add some water. Add cornflour paste & keep for 3 more minutes. Garnish with sliced tomatoes. * Red chilli paste – There are 2 ways of making red chilli paste.

    Remove the seeds of red chillies & soak it in vinegar for 24 hrs.Grind it. Stir the paste in oil for sometime.

    OR

    Add some vinegar to kashmiri chilli powder & mix well.

        Though I’m in Bahrain for sometime, I haven’t yet tried Majboos. I think its something like biriyani, right?

        Anyways, I’ll keep this in mind, if ever I come across a good recipe :)

      hi Maria!

      i tried out the chilli paneer gravy..felt tangy taste was less in it..do u think adding a tomato while sauteing will help?

        Hi Radhika,

        I guess you can add a tbsp of tomato ketchup if you like to increase the tanginess. I havent tried adding tomato in this, but it should be ok.
